Cockermouth School Appeals Process

• Students receive their results.
• If a student wishes to appeal, they follow the links on the Firefly page. These links include an explanatory video, the appeals form, FAQs and JCQ guidance to students issued on 6 August
• If a student has any questions, they email examsappeals@cockermouthschool.org which will be monitored by Dr Henley and Miss Hayton so that queries can be answered.
• If a student wished to appeal, they should email their completed appeal form to examsappeals@cockermouthschool.org
• The school will acknowledge receipt of the appeal. If a student does not get an acknowledgement they should email reception@cockermouthschool.org so that the school is aware there is an issue.
• The deadline for priority appeals is 10am Monday 16 August. The appeals will be investigated, the findings will be presented to the review panel and the panel will make a decision.
• The outcome of the appeal will be communicated to the appellant by the end of the w/c 16 August
• If the appellant wishes to proceed to a stage 2 appeal, they must inform the school by 10am on Monday 23 August.
• The school must upload stage 2 appeals to the exam board portals by the end of the day 23 August. We will write to confirm that we have done this.
• For all other appeals, the deadline for submission is 8am Friday 3 September. The appeals will be investigated, the findings will be presented to the review panel and the panel will make a decision.
• The outcome of the appeal will be communicated to the appellant by Tuesday 14 September
• If the appellant wishes to proceed to a stage 2 appeal, they must inform the school by 10am on Thursday 16 September
• The school must upload stage 2 appeals to the exam board portals by the end of the day Friday 17 September. We will write to confirm that we have done this.
